An improvement on the Swedish original; and cleaves closer to the novel, while at the same slightly changing the ending. However, director David Fincher reins in his visual verve, though making something so slick that most Hollywood filmmakers would dream of emulating. The credit sequence is up there with his FIGHT CLUB one.
