My review of A Separation is up! http://www.filmaluation.com/a-separation.html Winner of this year's Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. Out 1st July. My review of Holy Rollers is up! http://www.filmaluation.com/holy-rollers.html It's released on Friday 8th July. This is the Facebook page for the movie: http://www.facebook.com/HolyRollersMovieUK Animal Kingdom is out on DVD on 11th July. Here’s my review! http://www.filmaluation.com/animal-kingdom.html If you're a fan of the film, here's its Facebook page: www.facebook.com/AnimalKingdomUK Writer John Briley talking at the BFI after the restoration of the impressive She...Who Would Be Pope. He also wrote Gandhi and Cry Freedom. Wow! He seems to know how to pack a lot into a picture's running time. The play of The 39 Steps is charming, inventive fluff. Managed to get a box to myself for no extra charge. Sweet! Legendary Kinks frontman Ray Davies in conversation with director Julien Temple at the BFI; part of The Meltdown Festival. Davies came across as charming and down-to-earth. Hola! My review of The Widow of Saint-Pierre is up! http://www.filmaluation.com/the-widow-of-saint-pierre.html Except for the casting of Ryan Reynolds, Green Lantern is woeful on virtually every level - story, characterisation, dialogue and special effects. The advert is cool though. |

Noun, “filmaluation”: The evaluation of a film Verb, "to filmaluate”: To evaluate a film I am well aware how difficult it is to make a film, put on a stage play, create a television show, write a novel, let alone make something of note. (That appreciation doesn’t stop me from having high standards though.) This online magazine is edited by Hemanth Kissoon. Filmaluation is owned by Filmaluation Limited (Company number 8549302.
