ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE ★★☆☆☆
A smattering of decent gags drowned out in a sea of hyperactive buffoonery. Add in father-of-the-bride clichés, and the first instalment still remains the only solid offering. The latest from director Xavier Dolan, coming off a career high with MOMMY. Looks to be a powerful repost to the similarly monikered 1915 film from Griffith. I was not impressed by Tran Anh Hung's previous two (NORWEGIAN WOOD and I COME WITH THE RAIN), but the cast here have me intrigued. Was anyone crying out for a sequel to the reboot/remake/whatever? I hope this is insightful about homelessness, and not mawkish. |
