Documentary on a rooftopping couple - those who (illegally) climb the tallest structures. The vertigo-inducing footage is astonishing. A shame too much of the runtime foregrounds the relationship issues, which feels like reality TV. The drama of their chosen career is edge-of-your-seat enough. I wanted more on the psychology, mechanics, and prep.
SKYWALKERS: A LOVE STORY ★★★☆☆

Chiwetel Ejiofor's sophomore feature as director. Concerns a miscarriage of justice, poverty, societal double standards, and the chaos of life. It is upsetting, and almost harrowing at times, as hope is continually snatched away. A compelling biopic on what might have been. SASQUATCH SUNSET ★★★☆☆
The make-up effects for the Bigfeet fall between two stools - their look is neither funny nor wow-inducing. Starts scatological, and unexpectedly evolves into the melancholy with a one-two punch of the personal and environmental. The last shot is quietly damning. My review, click here. BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE ★★★☆☆
It’s the Martin Lawrence show and he delivers. Plus Will Smith gets slapped. Three times. If that isn’t an apology? The weakest entry, but the ride is still just about worth it with these two. UNDER PARIS ★★½☆☆
Psychotic shark fed on microplastics hunts the French along the Seine. Environmental wake-up call meets sharksploitation horror. Neither done satisfyingly. |
