Talking of the below post... [watch with headphones on, if at work or in public] SAN ANDREAS ★½☆☆☆ The Rock versus an earthquake. Seismically crap. A movie consisting entirely of thankless parts. Cliché, predictable and malnourished. Carla Gugino and Alexandra Daddario would have made a simpatico mother-daughter, in SAN ANDREAS, if not for the 14 year age gap in real life?! If you live in proximity of the Toronto Lightbox, this is what is on offer: THE ARTIST is looking like an aberration for writer-director Michel Hazanavicius. THE SEARCH was at times strikingly made, but even in its truncated form at TIFF 2014 it was a mess. SHE’S FUNNY THAT WAY is anachronistic buffoonery of the tedious variety.
My review: http://www.filmaluation.com/shes-funny-that-way.html The original POINT BREAK (1991) was so awesome due to the charisma of the leads and skill of director Kathryn Bigelow. The remake looks to have none of that. Julie Walters in conversation with Richard E. Grant. More of this please: Actors interviewing actors.
