Superhero stuff is mostly on creative life-support. However, this enlivens the moribund genre. Laugh-out-loud shenanigans of the eccentrically superpowered in London. The leads are engagingly winsome and exasperating at the same time.
EXTRAORDINARY [season two] ★★★★☆

Impressive. The opioid crisis and greed are wrapped into a pounding horror show. The dialogue and violence slay. Riveting performances, especially Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) as a ruthless corporate lawyer. A KILLER PARADOX [season one] ★★★★☆
A university student accidentally kills a serial murderer, and slowly becomes a serial killer himself. A show that combines the funny, the melancholy, and the riveting. There is a time jump that is bold but not quite satisfying. The plot reveals are dexterous. THE PIG, THE SNAKE AND THE PIGEON ★★★★☆
Taiwan’s third most-wanted criminal is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Before dying, he wants to be number one. He goes after the top two. Bordering on bleak. Subverts expectations. What a thriller! |
