 | “You’re out of control,” Tim (Dan Stevens) How refreshing. A feminist kaiju movie. For those that do not know what those concepts are: - kaiju = strange beast - feminist = a person desirous of gender equality This is not your typical inane GODZILLA/PACIFIC RIM monster movie. While there is obvious humour at somehow a human controlling a skyscraper-sized creature, there are deeper psychological observations. Of course, the kaiju is a metaphor. Just because symbolism is heavy-handed, does not necessarily stop it from being entertaining. (Well, not always anyway.) [To read more, click here.] |
