D: Rodrigo Sorogoyen.
S: Antonio de la Torre, Mónica López, Josep Maria Pou.
Convoluted political thriller, where the general themes it raises are more satisfying than the scatter-gun details presented. The last 20 minutes or so are excellent.
D: Panos Cosmatos.
S: Nicolas Cage, Andrea Riseborough, Linus Roache, Bill Duke.
Not the Nic Cage-renaissance hoped for, as the revenge plot is too simplistic. However, the lighting is remarkable, and the music score pounds you into your seat. (Put it this way, I wanted a coffee before the screening, but didn't need one after.)
