Out to own today: Dheepan
Midnight Special
STRANGER THINGS [season one] ★★★★☆
Really entertaining. Understands delay and pay-off. Like SUPER 8, has a winsome camaraderie working well with the pseudo-1980s horror elements. After the one-two duds of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and INTERSTELLAR, hopefully Christopher Nolan is back on track. Premiering at the Toronto Film Festival in September, and coming to Netflix October 13th. There has been a glut of animated movies this year. Can this rise above the flock? Get it? *I'll get my coat* PREACHER [season one] ★★★★☆
More stylishly put together than most movies. Surreal and funny. (Has slight pacing problems.) Out to own today: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
