Will the sequel up the entertainment after a mild initial offering? MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION ★★★★☆
Palms perspiring at the tension levels, the pencil kept slipping out of my hand as I was writing notes during the screening. My review: http://www.filmaluation.com/mission-impossible---rogue-nation.html There's a DARK KNIGHT RISES vibe to the trailer. It took two viewings at SKYFALL to embrace it, will SPECTRE do it the first time round? Chris Evans, a.k.a Captain America, has made his directorial debut. My review: http://www.filmaluation.com/before-we-go.html The trailer: Out to own today: The Gunman
On Friday 17th June 2015, writer-director Pete Doctor, actress Amy Poehler and producer Jonas Rivera came to talk about their film, INSIDE OUT.
These are the six things we learned: 1. Poehler says that even though she is an emotion, her character has emotions. The film is saying it’s okay not to be happy all the time. The pursuit of happiness can get in the way of taking the next big step. 2. Doctor states INSIDE OUT is talking about a loss of innocence with an 11-year old before a big change. They spent five years on a love letter to their kids. 3. Rivera observes Joy is the protagonist, not Riley. 4. Asked about whether they have an imaginary friend, Poehler jokes of having an “imaginary enemy”, and he’s here and hoping she doesn’t do well. 5. Doctor states that up to 27 emotions were considered, e.g. hope, pride, schadenfreude and ennui. Hope and Pride interfered with Joy’s turf, and the others were superfluous. 6. The director says creating emotion for film is about: - Having something to say, and - Having great people to execute that. |
