THE WATER DIVINER ★★☆☆☆
Russell Crowe's directorial debut starts promisingly, but ends up saying little new about war. Subplot is anaemic. My review: http://www.filmaluation.com/the-water-diviner.html 'Ghost Protocol' was one of the best action flicks of the last 10 years. Can MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION top it?
Rom-com alert! It can't be worse than HECTOR AND THE SEARCH FOR HAPPINESS, right? WILD CARD ★★★☆☆
Surprisingly limber Jason Statham Las Vegas-set caper. Has ingredients of several movies, but not in enough quantities. It's over just as it's getting started. INSURGENT ★★☆☆☆
More leaden dim-witted allegorical dystopia. So much nonsense dressed as po-faced pseudo-gravitas. Jena Malone and Janet McTeer in period spectral would-be chiller.

Noun, “filmaluation”: The evaluation of a film Verb, "to filmaluate”: To evaluate a film I am well aware how difficult it is to make a film, put on a stage play, create a television show, write a novel, let alone make something of note.
